Sumengen Sutomo is an energetic academic and a man dedicated to the health, education and welfare of his fellow Indonesians. He has earned the following degrees:

Dr Sutomo's professional experience includes long-term managemant of various public health programs including project development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting in the area of population and health, environmental health, and health ecology.

Dr Sutomo has been principal investigator of public health research mainly focused on environmental health, including water supply and sanitation, water quality, and morbidity and mortality due to water related diseases.

Dr Sutomo has published research articles in public health journals; and he has also contributed to several books, publications treat research methodology and management, including strategic thinking, operational planning, monitoring, and reporting.
