The Objectives
Increase stakeholder participations in developing reading and learning society including both national and international, governmental organizations, private sector, and civil society organization at all levels.
ActivitiesThe concept of “A 100 year national development through reading and learning society” was introduced at the national workshop in 2003 involving more than 75 participants national and international. They included representative of Ministry of Education, National Library, University of Indonesia, Yayasan Kesejahteraan Pertamina, PT Aqua Indonesia, PT Coca Cola, Pertamina, Caltex Indonesia, Dharma Wanita Persatruan Pusat, Metro TV, Embassy of Japan, JICA, and Embassy of Republic of China.
Dr. Zhao Xu Cai, the First Secretary Embassy of Republic of China, in Indonesia, Jakarta. He was the first key foreign official supporting BIF’s concept “A 100 –year national development through reading and learning society in Indonesia”. He travelled with BIF in campaigning the concept through a series of workshop in Jakarta at the National Library (2003); YKPP Pertamina (2004); British Council 2005), Purwokerto district (2005) to develop a pilot project at the village of Jatisari.
Dr. Sumengen Sutomo, the Chair, Bangun Indonesia Foundation. He developed the concept of reading and learning society for a 100 years in Indonesia. Without having reading and learning society, Indonesia will not reached its development as well as the developed country.is one of the requirement for Indonesia developed country.
Ms. Bebi Sutomo, She is the first member of BIF, who committed and participated in implementing the concept of reading and learning society.
Mr. Sutadji Juri,He is one of the key official of BIF who actively participated and supported the concept of developing reading and learning society to become reality.
Mr. Len, the staff of the Secretary, Embassy of Republic Chine, in Indonesia participated in supporting the reading and learning materials including DVD, and books.
Mr. Iman SurahmanHe is one of the member of BIF, who committed and actively participated to BIF partnership with the National Library and Women Association (DharmaWanita Pusat) in developing reading and learning society.
